We’re ready to go

Last night, the Farming Concrete research team got together for the first time. Sixteen volunteers crowded into GreenThumb’s offices, where we passed around guidelines and data sheets to get this project under way. The energy was amazing. The enormous amount of work it will take to accurately measure just how much food New Yorkers are growing in communally run gardens begins now.

Our team is divided into smaller groups to cover as much of the five boroughs as possible. To do this, and to provide all of the scales, boxes, and other materials necessary to make this work, we need your support! Please consider making a contribution to this incredible initiative – your donation will go a long way to preserving community gardens and empowering urban food production everywhere.
